• In Daylight & In The Nighttime

    28 January 2016

We follow his luminiscent spray all around the city and it's quite lucky that graffiti artist Glow is a local because we want to see more and more of him. In subways and on huge walls, his totems, gods and animals glow in daylight and nighttime. We don't plan on removing his hood but we're still interested in what goes on in the head underneath it - the story includes meditation, street art during the day and a random spray can 15 years ago.

  • 11 Moments of Asya Kovanova & Andrey Kulev

    21 January 2016

They are directing partners, whose animation is built of delicate threads and silhouettes, light as dandelions. Love with Showers is their short animated movie, which won The Golden Rhyton a couple of months ago and will be screened at the International Festival of Animated Movies between 29 and 31 January. Each frame under the hand of Andrey Kulev is magical, so here, we show several and you can see the rest 6-minute story at Lumier Cinema on 30 January at 17:30.

  • 7 Moments of Teodor Georgiev

    7 January 2016

Our first meeting was on a table at a bar at Gorna Banya, where they brew and bottle the craft beer Blek Pine. Teodor has illustrated the labels, that's how we eard his name - we just had to aks whose hands make us look at the bottle again and again.

    10 December 2015

Stalker, as people call Mihaela, has been drawing since she was a child, studies at the National Academy of Arts, has a great eye for lifestyle, fashion and the skate culture. Now we know that soon she will produce her skate sketches Skateches in the form of a book and we found out a few interesting thing about her like her going to national folk dances as little, her obssession with Lawson Rhys Taylor and her relentless chasing of people and moments in her life.
  • 7 Moments of Hristofor Minev

    3 December 2015

  • 9 Moments of Stefan Chinov

    26 November 2015

"From Plovdiv - illustrator - 34 years old". This is his first sentence when asked to present himself. Otherwise, he is a print ninja and his drawings are like movie scenes - they possess amazing action and movement.
  • 7 Moments of Inna Pavlova

    19 November 2015

Inna Pavlova is an artist and illustrator. Her book A Stroy about a Man, Who Does Not Have a Full-Face, for example, is both beautiful and dark, although Inna has been known to draw an occasional smile. She also makes posters, cover books for foreign publishing houses (her major at the National Academy of Arts), illustrations to texts in the media and "whatever suits me best".

You an check her work on be.net/inna_pavlova.
  • 11 Moments of Yulian Tabakov

    12 November 2015

He sets fire in the pit of our stomachs with his scenography from many years, then it burns and explodes vividly in his first movie - Tsvetanka, which we watch with our mouths agape.
  • For the letters with love: Chas LoveLetters

    5 November 2015

Chas is a part of the graffiti crew LoveLetters and he loves letters since 1989. They seem to love them back and the result is on urban canvases around the world. Now he's coming to Bulgaria for Sprite Graffiti Academy and he'll teach our young graffiti artists the ABC of the art. Before that, we made a little online meeting with him and talked about it all in detail...
  • 7 Moments of Iva Dimitrova

    29 October 2015

She invents characters with witty faces who can be found walking on postcards and bags, she does graphics and often rides her bike to the gallery, where she works. She is part of the graphic studio Print Nest - she opened an exhibition with one of them, Zoran Mise. We also like her entertaining drawings with a pencil and her graphics with delicate lines and black ink, so we caught the trail of one of her wolves and we ended up here.
  • 7 Moments of Borislavawillmadeit

    22 October 2015

Borislava is ready for her second solo exhibition - this time it is at betahaus and is under the name Never Ending School, inspired by her graduation project. You can check out her works under the name Borislavawillmadeit on behance (you might want to dedicate an entire evening to browse through her stuff).
  • 7 Moments of Zhoro Panchev

    15 October 2015

You can feel the city heat and hear the music from his photos - they are that powerful. That was Zhoro's hold on us (art director at DDB by profession) before we stumbled upon his illustrations for the Trash Talk Death Match - the crazy card game, launched last week on Kickstarter, that helps us insult our friends in the most honest way. There are two more creative brains behind TTDM - Vasil Petrakov and Hristo Dimitrov, but since the cool cards are Zhoro's work, we decided to leave you in his arms.
  • 7 Moments of Diyana Naneva

    8 October 2015

Diyana Naneva is Functional Neighbour - or the neighbour that constantly reminds her that she should make good use of her time, that she has stories to tell and mysteries to solve. Diyana draws this stories and mysteries in comic books and illustrations - she works with screenwriters or does her own projects such as her book A Season to Escape (or as she defines it "comics with a pinch of poetry"). Her foxes and people with red noses make us want to spend the whole day browsing her tumblr profile - see for yourselves.
  • 7 Moments of Kalina Muhova

    24 September 2015

    photo Leonardo Paraga

Two sentences are wnough to understand if someone is a good writer. Two brushes are enough to spot a good illustrator. We came across her profile on Behance on accident, we browsed through it and clicked determined on the contact's info, although we saw it lead all the way to Bologna. From our short conversation with Kalina, we understood that Bologna is actually one of the cities of modern illustration, so it's a no-brainer why she went there to study at their Academy after her graduation in Bulgaria.
  • 7 Moments of Asen Petrov

    10 September 2015

In our first conversation, he quotes two Japanese - Haruki Murakam with his rule that taking things too seriously is a serious waste of time and Yasaburo Quwayama with his directions on minimalism. Asen Petrov designs logos, business cards and everything else that later becomes the face of a brand.
  • Blood becomes water

    27 August 2015

The art-collective Blood becomes water just ate the cake for its five birthday and made a new zine. There you are, the two reasons why we enter its studio - where you get in by the screen - to see what's it like to live like a rock star, which is the forbidden question and what does all of this even mean.
  • 7 Moments of Zina Nedelcheva

    27 August 2015

  • 7 Moments of Martina Vacheva

    20 August 2015

She used to work at the bar in Hip Hop Library&Bar, now she lives in Plovdiv, works in an advertising agency and starts her mornings with her grandfather's ghetto blaster. She says that each of her series of illustrations is from another world which she is trying to talk to.
