The unique house in which the Ethnographic Museum in Plovdiv is located today, dates back to the period of the Bulgarian National Revival. The building is representative of the baroque, typical of the housing architecture in Plovdiv at the time of the Revival. The exhibition now on view here was built up on scientific principles and opened its doors on June 27, 1962. In five departments it exhibits the traditional material and spiritual culture of the population of the Plovdiv and Rodopi region.
