She was part of the group No Angels long before she came back here to stand beside the Sofia Philharmonic for her Christmas concert, in which we are listening songs that will bring the Christmas spirit. Before that she is playing us some music for holy nights, as well as some for the moments without angels.

Their name comes from a dream of the singer Bjorn Dixgord, in which one man shouts in his face "Mando Diao!". In reality, the Swedes hit alternative and garage rock until a spark slips and it's comings for a concert here. The rumor spreads like warm bread amongst their fans and five of them put us on a favorite song, warmed by the reasons why we have to go listen them live, so we take the time, put the headphones and make sure that going to Sofia Live Club is worth it.
  • Song of the fall

    18 October 2018

The new platform for music is coming from A1 Xplore Music with millions of songs, which we can put on an individual playlist, we can listen to different radio stations from across the world or we can take our favourite songs to Mars if we want. In one lazy afternoon we, from Programata, decided share some of the melodies we found realted to the feeling of the season. You can hear it on xploremusic.net.

Two years had passed since we first talked with Kan Wakan about the things in his life. Back in the days he was just coming from Los Angeles for his first concert in Sofia, and his triple album Phantasmagoria was a distant project that we hoped to hear live here.

"I'm doing music to save myself". After these words the frontman of the band Krekhaus takes a deep breath and starts writing his own story in to a playlist form in which we are traveling from The Beatles to Bob Dylan with an offset to a violin.
  • The things of the stage: Timbe from Bad Copy

    12 July 2018

    text Natalia Ivanova

When we first found ourselves in the audience of the rap trio in Novi Sad, we realized that something was wrong with us – we didn't know the lyrics of their songs. This is how it became clear how big they were in Serbia, and then we learned why – in the 1990s, along with Beogradski sindikat, Bad Copy were among the first to develop the hip-hop music in the country, with humor, irony and minimalistic beats as Timbe tells us.

  • A story of the soundtrack: George Strezov

    Text and photo Kristina Yordanova

You must have watched Solo: A Star Wars story, but little do you know about the saountrack of the movie and the fact that you can hear bulgarian voices in it. The men choir was conducted by the person we are talking to today. His name is George Strezov and we talk about movies, games, music, his first steps and, of course, the soundtracks. He was taken to the music world by the composition of the movie Lord of The Rings, went through the secret project for princess Diana and composed the disco music for the game Surviving mars.

With his 4.45 words a minute speed, he is unofficially faster than Eminem, but that is not what is important - the music by this Brighton born and raised grime guru is raw energy that sprints through genres with punching lyrics. Before we feel its power live at Terminal 1, four fans are preping us with the tracks, with which they dive deep into Ocean Wisdom.

They often call him "Sting's guitarist", but in parallel with this 30-year tandem, Dominic Miller haven't stopped making his own music. Shortly after the release of their Ten Summoner's Tales (including Shape of my Heart, whose story we hear below), in 1995 he released his first solo album First Touch, which he recorded in his living room surrounded by his children (to date - six).

He's been jumping from one extreme to another for as long as we've known him - from the scandolous underground start with Hipodil, to the commercial top with Skakauetz and the serious run through politics to the crazy present with The Legends.
  • The things of life: Alexandrina Pendatchanska

    29 March 2018

When she first appeared on stage to sing Violetta's aria from Verdi's Traviata, she did not even know how to bow. Only a year later she was already Lucia di Lammermoor in Bilbao, and for the next 30 years her voice was heard in the largest operas from Vienna, Berlin, Turin and Monte Carlo to Moscow, New York, Washington, Tel Aviv and Paris (where she lives with her daughters most of the time).
  • On common ground

    22 March 2018

    text Natalia Ivanova

If your guitar can move anyone without even saying a word, then you speak all languages. This is what we think when listening to Vlatko Stefanovski's music - the Macedonian has 35 albums (14 of them - with Leb and Sol) and his last one Mother tongue gathers musical acoustic versions of Macedonian folk songs that "fly across borders and become a common culture" Shortly before they land at Sofia Live Club on 30th of March, we wait for Vlako to pick up the phone in Skopje to find a common language with us for a few questions: from the first guitar to the most important advice he has ever received (and, as we think, applies to everyone).

There is something, I feel it in the air… we're singing Away by Gravity Co. and inhaling the snowballs that the band's frontman has brought for us as an excuse for his coming late to our meeting. But it is really OK - we can wait a few minutes more, when after a few long years Yavor Zahariev, Iva Chalakov, Peter Samnaliev and Stefan Popov are about to restart their history with two live concerts at Terminal 1.

  • She, the Muse

    9 November 2017

    text Nikola Shahpazov

They often call her "David Lynch's muse". With good reason. Christa Bell would steal anyone's heart even if he hadn't directed the Lost Highway and Mulholland Dr., but her creative relationship with Lynch is something special. We had listened to her voice long before it came out in the new episodes of Twin Peaks, but her debut album, We Dissolve, finally took over us. Its exciting that we will hear it live at Sofia Live Club on November 17th, and even more so - that before that, Christa manages to answer some important questions about music, cinema, funerals and, of course, David, as she calls him.
