Who's Afraid of the Goat

Who's Afraid of the Goat

1 October 2009 Text Irina Marinova
Edward Olby once said he will come to work in Bulgaria only if he is sure the director who will put his text on stage is good. Looks like the time has come – the great play-writer is coming to Sofia and looks like he will stay longer. First he will go to Dom na kinoto where he will look together with us the movie based on his 1962 work Who is Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and at 21:00 there will be a meeting-conversation with him. On 11 October will be the premiere of his play Goat or Who is Sylvia at Naroden Teatar. Olby will not only go there, but consult Iavor Gardev – the director he chose himself – through the last rehearsals. Olby is convinced that Gardev realizes the complexity of the play in which a serious married man falls in love with Sylvia, who is a… goat.

The screening of Who is Afraid of Virginia Woolf? Is at Dom na Kinoto, 5 October, 19:00, followed by a meeting with Edward Olby at 21:00
