Nice to meet you, Iva Todorova!

18 July 2019
When she sits down to write Nice to meet you, Iva!, she probably doesn't realize that she's already going towards two Ikar prizes (for leading female role and playwright) and a Golden Kukerikon (for a solo theatrical performance).

But it's not just the awards: since its premiere in February last year, the show is selling so fast that there's a queue of people who have not seen it yet. With all that, if you're wondering why her name has not been around much before, the answer is quite romantic - at the beginning of the millennium, she went to Italy for love after she had come under the skin of her teacher Krikor Azaryan and she had picked up speed as an actress in the National Theater, The Army, Sfumato, and the Danube Bridge series. When she returns here in 2009, she is not in a hurry to bounce back on stage (she does it for the first time only in 2017 with Welcome to Bulgaria) and becomes an advertising director in Magazine 8. Real events of this colorful life are finding their way into the show, so we meet with her to talk about all of that.
