• Melba 2019

    7 - 30 November 2019
    Last year we grabbed our spoons for the first Melba Festival, which now serves us a second batch of good design. The definition of the word is broad and the program reflects it - it has everything from the rigorous industrial lines that inspired today's minimalist smartphones to the art of colored dots, pumpkins and mirrors. There is an exhibition between 7 and 17 of November at Port A with the best of Bulgarian design; an international symposium; and a film program.

  • DA Fest 2019

    22 - 26 October 2019
    Here's DA Fest again, gathering the strongest examples of digital art by over 60 artists. Curators Venelin Shurelov and Galina Dimitrova-Dimova have chosen works that play with the senses, bring us into space landscapes or provoke our taste. Between October 22 and 26, the program is so rich that there will definitely be something for your appetite.

  • CineLibri 2019

    5 - 24 October 2019
    From writers who write screenplays to directors who divide their films into chapters, the flirtation between cinema and literature is long and happy. The CineLibri Festival captures it for the fifth time from October 5 to October 20, when book adaptations come together with meetings with writers.

    With the theme Code: Dirty Blue, the festival looks at the pollution of the world's waters, but it also releases a handful of documentaries about travel, politics, spirituality and caring for the other.

    It's called Dance Film Fest and it's kind of like a general rehearsal for Kinomania, which turns off the movie lights in Lumiere and is releasing 12 films for great dancers. This is where we enter in the locker rooms of 6 of them while we're dressing for the opening - on September 24 at 7:00 pm from screen White Crow is flying and is for the Russian ballet dancer Rudolf Nureyev, whose perfectly ephemeral then we are watching at the Majesty of Ballet Kirov and Swan Lake.

    From Knyazhevo on July 29 to Lagera on August 22, for the fifth time, the fest transforms inter-bloc spaces in 11 neighborhoods into outdoor cinemas. Without a ticket, we see relatively new BG feature, documentary and animation films, most of them in a long and short combo and always at 20:45.
  • Cinema for Travelers

    In August Euro Cinema and G-8 Cinema collect 20+ feature and documentary titles under their roofs. The tours are for 6/8 BGN from the cinemas, while the Pozor Association also prepares thematic presentations.

  • Festival of Italian Cinema in Bulgaria

    The Fourth Italian Film Fest carries nine dramatically funny titles to the screen in Sofia, all of which tell the story of the picturesque Puglia area, and two legends are sitting in the guest lodge - the actress Ornella Muti (19 June at 20:15) and the actor-director Giancarlo Giannini (June 18 at 20:15).
