Dangerous Minds

Some days ago Marina Abramovic and Jay-Z joined forces. The artist made a 10-minutes short movie about the rapper's new song Picasso Baby  and the critic all over the world agreed that this collaboration was a real piece of art. But that is not the first time when artists and musicians (rock'n'roll stars) join forces.

Welcome To The Monkeyhouse
US band The Velvet Underground have settled a legal dispute with the Andy Warhol Foundation over rights to their famous Warhol-designed album cover - a banana. The band sued the foundation after it licensed the famous banana logo from their 1967 debut for use on other products. The legal claim argued the design had become a symbol of the band and the foundation had no right to use it. So if you have an iPhone case with the famous banana on it it's probably good to know that this is kind of illegal.

Teleport me, Jenna!
We would like to be teleport back in the 1973 when Salvador Dali met Alice Cooper. Over the course of about two weeks, Alice Cooper and surrealist king Salvador Dali, ate together, drank together, and basked in the glow of each other`s exceptional uniqueness.  “I would like to turn you into a work of art.  It’s name will be ‘First Cylindric Chromo-Hologram Portrait of Alice Cooper`s Brain’”, said Dali and the artwork is a fact. It is made out of plaster (or something), with a chocolate eclair running down it`s middle and ants crawling all over it. "I don't do drugs. I am the drugs", said Dali. We believe him.

What Does This Button Do?
Two years ago, while New York band Interpol played at Coachella festival, their performance of Lights was accompanied by a film by David Lynch, titled I Touch A Red Button Man. The mostly black-and-white animated short film stars a panicky character based on one of Lynch's sketches. Bursts of red fill the screen each time he pushes a red button. As for the story behind the video's mysterious red button man: "I think it's supposed to be left a mystery," said Kessler. "People listen to songs, you know, and try to piece things together. We'd rather not spell it out for them, so people don't listen to the song and try to figure out where it matches what we were saying."

So Long and Thanks For The Fish
30 Seconds to Mars has released their latest full-length album, titled Love Lust Faith + Dreams. Most notably, the album art features one of the infamous spot paintings by world-famous, controversial artist Damien Hirst. The single video Up In The Air is also related to Hirst. Up in the air featuring burlesque artist Dita Von Teese is a schizophrenic music video with elements of post-modernism. Dita, the former wife of Marilyn Manson, rides a pink mechanical bull in the video, alongside a lion, snakes, zebras, gymnasts Jordyn Wieber and McKayla Maroney, writer Neil Strauss, bursts of colour, a fencing match, spot artwork by Damien Hirst and a shirtless Jared Leto.

How Bizzare
In 1981, Blondie singer Debbie Harrand he’s in it, too, judging from the hairstyle of the masked male “magician” charactery dyed her signature locks brown and hired Alien concept artist H.R. Giger to design the cover of her debut solo album. He also directed the video for the track Now I Know You Know, which looks like it was shot inside a Space Jockey facility as well as the video for the track Backfired where he had a small part -  he was a masked male magician character.

The enigmatic, shaky clip features an imaginary creature Lynch had sketched on a sheet of paper who repeatedly slams his palm against a red button. The video becomes increasingly manic as the song progresses - See more at: http://thewildmagazine.com/blog/10-amazing-collaborations-between-artists-and-musicians/#sthash.fLVvEHMU.dpuf
