The Artists

21 December 2017
How - from all 49 artists we featured in 2017 - did we pick just 12 that will guide you into 2018? It was quite hard. It wasn't easy to fit their work in just one sheet of paper for our calendar (which you'll find in issue #837), either. The only easy thing was to ask them a simple question: what are their resolutions for the upcoming year.

DAFNA STOILKOVA
In my personal calendar for 2018 love is a constant presence. There's time and space for new things, places and people, as well.

ASPARUH PETROV
10 years ago I thought by 2018 I'd have grown up . Still, I enter the new year ready for all my childhood dreams to come true.

YORDANKA MISHEVA
In 2018 I'll find the courage to rediscover the child inside me, to act like I'm 7 again, to pack a small bag of luggage, close my eyes, spin the globe, stop it with my finger and finally get a one way ticket.

POLINA STOYANOVA - JO IYAA
In 2018 I'll allow myself more time for vacations and adventures with friends, freedom of the mind, brave dreams, peace, confidence and devotion to everything and everyone that I love.

KOSTADIN KOKALANOV
What I want from 2018 is more memories with my young daughter. Just simple family moments as well as a few more meaningful projects. So I guess this means I want it to be like 2017, but a bit more peaceful.

Dessy Baeva
In 2018 I'll stop leaving home in the last possible minute before an appointment. And by the end of the year I'll be a better version of myself.

ELIZAVETA ANGELOVA
In 2018 I vow to finally stop with the self-criticism and enjoy the ride without hurrying to the final destination.

INA HRISTOVA
Nobody can stop 2018 from becoming a great year for me. 8 is my happy number - a symbol of timelessness and infinity.

ELISAVETA VACHEVA
In my 2018 there will be less planning and more spontaneous decisions.

KONSTANTIN KOLEV
2018 will be better than 2017 because, hopefully, I'll be more proactive when it comes to my art. I'm planning on getting a driver's license as well, so I'll be harassing people on the street.

ELENA NAZAROVA
When I wake up in 2018 I want to be calmer and healthier. Also, I want it to be snowy... The rest will come later.

SOFIA DIMITROVA
I'm hoping that in 2018 I'll reach more awareness of myself and the world around me and that I'll live more in the now. I also wish that people will be more tolerant to one another and that they cherish what they have.
