    27 June 2019

    text Nikola Shahpazov

They are one of the most bold and stylish amorphous groups on the planet and on June 30 they come for their first concert here. The criminally low interest in it (almost all European dates from their tour are "sold out") gives you a chance to take a ticket for the Ancient Theater in Plovdiv at the very last minute.

  • What we didn't know about... Lee Scratch Perry

    22 May 2019

    text Kristina Yordanova

At the age of 83, the reggae guru leaps to the world scenes with an eccentric beard, biting a cigarette between his teeth. Known as one of the key figures of the Jamaican style he had worked with Bob Marley, Paul McCartney and Keith Richards. NowLee Scratch Perry is circulating between Jamaica and Switzerland and he's not tired, he is coming in the laste afternoon with another force of the dub scene Mad Professor to make us move to his new groovy beats.

  • What we didn't know about... Sofia Live Club

    9 May 2019

    text Kristina Yordanova

We know that the sound there makes no mistakes and we will hardly ever forget Fink's concert, while others remember Hidden Orchestra, Riverside or Laibach. The production of memories begin in the spring of 2009 when Sofia Live Club picks up its first musicians. 10 years later, we say "Thanks and congratulations" to one of the best concert venues in the city, and before the birthday of May 15 we return to the important episodes in the club's life together with its founder Petar Koev.

Jonathan Bree is a singer-songwriter and producer in New Zealand, best known for his work as a solo artist, as well as co-founding the indie pop group The Brunettes in 1998 and Lil' Chief Records in 2002. He frequently collaborates with label-mates as a musician, engineer, and record producer. He is coming here with his mask to make us move to his melancholic melodies.
  • What we didn't know about... Joshua Bell

    28 March 2019

    photo Richard Ashcroft

He is a giant violinist who once played before a small handful of people in a dark lobby in Washington, when his show was cancelled because of a storm, and this becomes his most grateful audience. He's from a family of therapists from Indiana and, if not for his friend Stradivarius from 1713, he would deal with science. Alas, the title of music director of the world-famous chamber orchestra Academy of St. Martin in the fields is pretty far from physics and diverse projects he can't be labeled as only a classic musician.
  • MONOteism

    21 March 2019

    text Nikola Shahpazov

Led by the instrumental sorcerer Takaakira Goto, MONO have been playing post-rock for 20 years, which means that we think of them as one of the most important bands in the genre. Recently, however, the Japanese have made such great strides that they have found themselves among the bands that Robert Smith of The Cure invites to his London festival. While waiting for their second concert here in April, we're putting in your earphones some of our favorite songs of theirs.
  • Voices of Estruna

    28 February 2019

    text Kristina Yordanova

If there's ever a remake of the movie Troy, someone must tell the director about Estruna and their album, Al Este Del Cante, which is crying for such a soundtrack. With a Latino Grammy for the best flamenco project for 2018, the album is the first with a leading Bulgarian participation that puts such a prize in its pocket. Congratulations are welcomed live at the National Palace of Culture in late March.

  • Waiting for Tom Odell

    17 January 2019

    text Kristina Yordanova

Thanks to the platinum song Another Love we know about the blonde hair and the angry look of the singer, but it's not the eyes that pinch our thumb on the "play" button. Melancholy, nostalgia and a voice that we know, meet behind the piano, where Tom sits down to tell us the real stories of his third album Jubilee Road dedicated on a street in East London where he used to live. Before we go to Sofia on February 15th, we are playing four pieces of his entire discography, so that you can warm up for the fireworks on the first line.
